Jewel of the Seas to receive $30m makeover

Royal Caribbean’s Jewel of the Sea will receive a $30 million makeover next spring. The front-to-bow update will install new cabins, dining and technology for next years’ mediterranean sailing season.

Amongst the changes: A new 2-bedroom family suite and 24 new staterooms will be installed. Giovannis Table, Vintages and Izumi, all regular Royal Caribbean dining ventures, will be installed on board. And technology-wise, a new poolside large scale movie screen will be added.

Updates also include the installation of “VOOM” – better high-speed internet connections.

All works will be carried out prior to the mediterranean sailings to kick off in May 2016.
